Humankind is inevitably tossed between the regularly occurring polarities of success and failure. Success is considered to be a cause for celebration, and failure a cause for sorrow. One who has opened the spiritual eye celebrates inner joy and avoids being affected by the oscillation of success and failure. However, materialists continue to suffer at both extremes; even though they may seem delighted by success, their success is only a superficial joy. With failure, they face a difficult solitary trial, which is infact an opportunity for the re-examination of their priorities. Failure is a gateway to a new life, inviting one to retreat inwardly, and educate oneself to become strong and sound.

“Success is like the bright moon; failure is like the dark moon. The reality is that the moon is neither dark nor bright. What we see of it is only a reflection of the sun. You become like the sun and shine spiritually on everything in life. You remain unperturbed, safe and sound, rising above the constraints of success and failure, thus making your life celebratory.”
