Bright Moon is a sci-fi novel about a young boy on a quest to seek out his true identity.
Chris McKenzie has a deep rooted curiosity for life and beyond – a curiosity which births a power incomprehensible to man. Power, like a coin, has two sides – constructive and destructive.
Heads or tails? Mankind will decide as each person chooses a side. The depth and startling power of the child’s emerging gifts and his service to humanity for the greater good furnish great challenges – originating from man’s greed – which eventually pose a threat to the child’s life.

The book itself in my humble opinion is more than a book. It is an inspirational educational tool which epitomizes the author’s desire to make us help ourselves develop our full potential, embracing obstacles we face in life and those differing characters we will meet. The novel gathers and bases itself around a young boy, Chris McKenzie, who through his genuine passion and desire for the Bright Moon, astronomy and their mysticisms goes on to define how with an unknown spiritual interest people can awaken and grow.
The novel shows how balances should be struck in life, with so many differing characters, each unique in their own way, we can learn to help. Chris’s first real hurdle came from his own home, having had his parents separate, Chris lived with his mother who simply did not understand or appreciate his interests. Yet only when Chris developed a precious gift which allowed him to see and communicate with Micro-Organisms, albeit coupled with a sense of fear and worry, did his mother and medical/field experts succumb to the notion of spiritual happenings in him unexplainable through science.
Amongst all this, Srinivas Arka, the author, highlights not just the human potential, but also through having the right guidance and appreciating what nature and the world have provided us with, that many things can be achieved, humanity can be served and religious, cultural or academic backgrounds can come together as one.
